Pre-emption is HUGELY important.  Take it from me: I found out that I was pre-empted the day before my first full draft was due, and I had to start ALL over!!  It's easy to find out whether you've been pre-empted, but that's is not the end of pre-emption!  You must setup a pre-emption alert so that you will be notified if you are pre-empted during the writing process.  In almost all cases, you can tweak your note enough that you won't be pre-empted and can even incorporate that journal article into one of your footnotes.  This is a SHORT class where I will work with everyone that attends, one-on-one.  I'll start by going over generally how to set up the pre-emption alert.  Then, you'll set up your alert right then and there.  You can ask me questions and I can help you identify and tweak your search terms.  Once you've set your alert, you're free to go early.  It's definitely worth your time.  Finally, all attendees that are enrolled in Lexis Rewards will earn points.  Additionally, you'll get entered into a raffle for Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones.  Each time that you attend a JOURNAL BOOT CAMP training, you'll get entered to win.  The Journal Boot Camp series is a 4-part series that covers (1) How to Pick a Note Topic; (2) Conducting Journal Research; (3) Pre-Emption Alerts; and (4) Tips for Cite-Checking.  I'll notify the winner via email and share it with the law school community in one of my weekly emails.  See you there!
